ABOUT THE AzANA

The AzANA is the professional organization representing Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) throughout Arizona. A CRNA is an advanced practice nurse with a specialized degree in anesthesia. CRNAs have been providing anesthesia in the United States for over 125 years. We work in traditional hospital operating rooms and obstetrical suites, and in the offices of dentists, opthamologists and podiatrists across the country. CRNAs provide over 27 million anesthetics annually and are the main anesthesia providers in Rural America and the US Military. We work independantly and in conjunction with physicians, surgeons, and dentists. Anesthesia is 50 times safer today than just 20 years ago, and numerous studies have demonstrated there is no difference in the quality of care delivered by a CRNA and an anesthesiologist.

Arizona is home to over 250 CRNAs. We are pleased to provide quality anesthesia to the people of this state and look forward to helping comfort you in your time of need.

To find out more about CRNAs feel free to browse our website and contact any Board Member with your questions.
